GREEN SPRING GOLF COURSE (435-673-7888)
Las Vegas Golf Course Review
Green Springs Golf Course in Washington near St. George is a beautiful 18-hole championship design that is truly one of the best golf values in the St. George/Mesquite region.
Rates top out at just $65 prime time, including cart in 2019 - a great value for a course of this quality! The layout meanders along a rolling terrain with some elevated tees and
raised green complexes, providing outstanding desert mountain scenery throughout.
Water hazards come into play seven times, including some forced carries off the tee or on the approach on several holes. Bunkering is understated but strategic, with over two
dozen sand traps of various shapes and configurations in play along the landing zones or green side.
On the front side the par five 4th demands a long carry over a ravine on the second on third shot, and the next hole features a tee shot over the same hazard to an undulating green
of this beautiful par three. Uniquely, the par four 11th and par three fifteenth plays over and around pristine wetlands that are home to abundant native wildlife.
There are 4 sets of tees that play to distances and slopes that measure 6859 yards/130 slope, 6417 yards/124 slope, 5823 yards/120 slope, and 5123 yards with a slope of 118
from the red tees. As these ratings indicate, Green Springs presents a fair challenge for top level players, yet is quite negotiable for beginners and high handicappers playing from
the two forward sets.
On course yardage markers are situated in the fairways at 100, 150 and 200 yards, and the cart paths also have markings every 25 yards from 200 to 100. Sprinkler heads are
measured to the center on all par fours and fives and color coded flags indicate front, middle and back hole locations on the medium size greens, which often feature undulations
or ridges. There is generally ample room off the tee, and most green complexes - though often mounded or raised, have sufficient recovery room.
On property is a full service practice facility with grass range, short game area including sand bunker, plus putting green. The clubhouse features a pro shop and snack area
serving hot and cold sandwiches and beverages. Nice course - nice value, and the course was in great shape form tee to green on our late June visit - we highly recommend a
round here. For more info, visit our page for the course, with direct link to their website by clicking here.
