Birch Creek in Smithfiled (about a 20 minute's drive from downtown Logan) is a par 72, 18-hole championship design built along rolling hills, that features outstanding vistas of
the surrounding mountains.
The course features strategic though not overstated sand bunkering , with several holes also having water in play, with the Birch Creek traversing through the front nine. Locals
attest that the putting surfaces here are some of the highest quality in the region. This was my experience as well!
There are 4 sets of tees with the tips playing to 6824 yards with a 125 slope rating for men, 137 for women. Alternate sets play to distances and yardages measuring 6503
yards/118 men's slope and 133 women's, 5491 yards/110 slope for men and 123 for women, 4421 yards/110 slope for men and 110 for ladies hitting from the red tees.
On property is a full size targeted driving range, plus practice green for putting as well as a green for chipping and sand bunker practice. Lessons are offered. The clubhouse
features a pro shop, a snack area with sandwiches and beverges,and restrooms. On course there are yardage markers every 25 yards from 200-75 yards in on all par fours and
fives. Color coded flags indicate the day's front, middle or back pin locations.
