Forest Dale Golf Course (801)483-5420
Utah golf course review
Forest Dale is part of Salt Lake City Golf, which owns, operates and maintains 6 public facilities including the 18-hole championship courses Bonneville, Glendale and Rose Park
Country Club, plus nine-hole courses Forest Dale and Nibley Park. Mountain Dell features 2 beautiful 18-hole layouts (the Canyon and the Lake). For more info on Salt Lake City
Golf visit their website www.slcgolf.com
The 6 facilities provide a wide range of golf experiences with varying terrain, slope ratings and challenges that will satisfy a variety of levels of players. All six locations have
clubhouses with pro shops and snack area serving hot and cold food items. The 18-hole facilities have targeted ranges and all six have practice greens for putting and chipping.
The increasingly popular GolfBoards are now at Forest Dale, Nibley Park and Rose Park!
Forest Dale is a pretty nine-hole course which has 3 sets of tee boxes which play to distances and slopes ( if played twice) measuring 6252 yards/116 slope, 5242 yards/102
slope, and 4554 yards/106 slope for women playing from the forward tees. As the slope ratings indicate, this is a player friendly layout that can be enjoyed by all levels of golfers.
Walking is allowed as the tee areas are situated close to the greens. GolfBoards and cart are available for rent.
On course 150 yard stakes are placed in the middle of fairways on all par fours and fives, and 100, 200 and 250 ( on par fives) markers are also. Color coded flags indicate the
day's front, middle and back hole locations.
The terrain is quite flat so golfers will find level lies on the tree lined fairways. Sand bunkering is understated with 11 traps situated greenside. Water comes into play for mishit
approaches on the final 3 holes. As the oldest golf course in the state (renovated in 1986) Forest Dale features small, traditional table top greens that demand accuracy. Note that
there is a practice green, but no driving range on property.
